Description:	GrenCan was formed in September 2004 as a result of a group effort to plan fundraising functions for hurricane relief after the devastation of Grenada by Hurricane Ivan on September 7, 2004. We do believe that with the devastation of Grenada, rebuilding will be a long process with needs to be filled in many different areas. Therefore, we decided to pursue a long-term fundraising plan in order to aid in this important effort. This plan is incorporated with raising social consciousness, recognizing the need for an organization committed to the continued development of Grenadians in Canada as well as at home. We are committed to education and emphasizing our rich culture.
